AKA "the boss with the slimes." This seems to be the second Heroic boss most people are killing.

Icy Veins strat guide

No video because we all know what the fight looks like and don't need to watch some elitist's "perspective" video with hardcore soundtrack in which a quarter of the screen is covered by a damage meter.

The difference for Heroic is an additional ooze mechanic to deal with in each wave. And of course everything has more health and does more damage.

Icy veins recommends a kill priority of Yellow > Green, unless there is a Red ooze present, in which case we need to take out Green / Purple first so we can stack up and AoE heal.

I'll look into whether a mod exists that can process the above or if we will need to work it out on the fly. ^^

Most of the difficulty in this one seems to be healer co-ordination, with about half of ooze combinations having purple present, healers will need to set up their raid frames to monitor Deep Corruption stacks on heal targets. I'm told there are a few strategies to get heals off without triggering Deep Corruption, like spamming direct heals on pets to cause procced heals like Efflorescence and Beacon and that Shaman smart heal thing. Probably something healers will need to research or we might end up losing a lot of raid time to trial and error.

We'll likely need to co-ordinate tank/healer CDs for the tank towards the end of each boss phase as the stacking debuff gets higher, but I don't think we'll need to double-tank it. Having a dedicated tank healer may be helpful for Deep Corruption phases so they can cast four big heals on the tank, wait for the stack to drop, repeat. Syrannia will probably end up using
[Stay of Execution] and
[Mirror of Broken Images] for extra CDs, but we'll see how we go.

As for DPS, seems like they just need to stand in the right place and kill the right add first. Nearly every wave will include AoE adds so spec accordingly.

We'll need to work out as we go stuff like what combinations we have the most issues with and how many people we need to switch to oozes. I don't imagine the enrage timer will be much of an issue for our group, especially post-nerf.

Running an addon tomorrow with /rw announce for oozes.

Also found out that Healing Rain *does* proc Deep Corrution, but only the first tick, so it's a net healing gain. It seems Beacon healing on any Purple combo is definitely the way to keep the tank up without having to blow any precious CDs.

I smell KILL!

Nerf hits this week so we may not have to change things up, but looking at how far behind the enrage we were 3-healing I want to suggest we try 2-healing YS this week now that healers seem pretty confident dealing with purple. Here are the six different combinations ranked in difficulty from hardest to easiest:

1. PURPLE RED YELLOW BLACK: kill PURPLE, stack up
-HEROISM, brute force AoE heal and DPS, healers pop throughput CDs (RED + YELLOW), raid wall/Aura Mastery/SLT/etc
-may want to kill YELLOW here instead, stack for AoE DPS and healers use big single target heals

2. GREEN YELLOW BLACK RED: kill GREEN, stack up
-same as first combination, except have no choice about killing GREEN :lol:

3. BLUE PURPLE GREEN YELLOW: kill YELLOW, spread out
-healers heal *assigned people* only, communicate who you're healing to prevent inadvertent overheal and Deep Corruption stacks
-get Mana Void to 20%/kill previous

4. GREEN RED BLUE BLACK: kill GREEN, stack UNDER THE VOID
-moderate AoE healing, AoE down adds
-get Mana Void to 20%/kill previous

5. BLUE BLACK PURPLE YELLOW: kill YELLOW, stack up
-spot healing only, easy combo
-get Mana Void to 20%/kill previous

6. PURPLE GREEN BLACK BLUE: kill GREEN, stack up
-as above
-may want to kill BLACK instead if we're shy boss DPS which makes it #3


To clarify - heals which DO NOT proc Deep Corruption:
-Efflorescence (proc Efflo before the oozes hit Yor)
-All Beacon of Light heals (via warlock/hunter pet)
-Guardian of Ancient Kings
-Lay on Hands
-Word of Glory
-Desperate Prayer
-Echo of Light
-Guardian Spirit
-Prayer of Mending
-Power Word: Barrier
-Divine Aegis (<------can abuse this pre-bubbling before oozes hit)
-Drain Life
-Vamp Embrace
-Enraged Regen, etc

-NB: Healing Rain gives one tick if players stay static within the Rain, leaving and re-entering the circle will apply subsequent ticks

Did you look at the attempts with us just single tanking? are we that far behind the enrage timer? I do believe we have purple under control where combo 1 we may be better off kill Yellow and avoid a 2nd whole set of adds, actually any Yellow with black combo I think we should kill the Yellow, having that 2nd set of adds and the boss spitting out hurty shadow bolts just makes it bad on both fronts dps and healing.

The two attempts I paid attention to it we were 30-40s behind but hadn't popped hero in either attempt. Agree on potentially killing yellow on #1 especially as we have a holy pally but wouldn't underestimate our raid comp for burst AoE (Demo Lock/Fire Mage/Arms Warr 3 best burst AoE classes in the game, Surv + Shadow are fair chop too).

5% less boss HP (and damage done) post-nerf, we could work out what we need.... will try and rig up this addon this week to spit out positional req's as well as what we need to kill on the fly.

same as above post except never purp + black (so we don't unnecessarily blow defensive CDs keeping dps alive through fixates when they're needed for tank), and more black ooze kills for increased deeps on boss
