I've read several guides about steering him, and it is pretty consistent to apply 2 dps to the legs and based on metrics it takes about 150k burst dmg on a leg to have it yaw the full 50% bar to that direction. I think we just need to get practice steering him with 2 DPS. Also the guides noted that if we get bad RNG where an active volcano will be up for a long time we should blow raid healing CDs to overcome the huge dmg fo the folks that have stacks, it is especially bad with people with multiple stacks when he stomps as the dmg could 1 shot them. I also think we should stay with the 1 tank strat since we are heavy in range dps to give us that extra DPS advantage on either steering or add control.

Here's a good detailed walkthru

From the hotfixes performed on 07.06.11:

Lord Rhyolith

◦Lord Rhyolith can now be quickly snapped from left to right, or right to left, if the appropriate amount of damage is dealt to the opposite foot.
◦Lord Rhyolith now prefers to activate volcanoes that are in front of him over volcanoes that are behind him.
◦Lord Rhyolith now spawns slightly further back on his platform, allowing players to stand on the edge of the terrain and not aggro him.
◦Lord Rhyolith no longer despawns when reaching the end of the encounter area, and does not despawn when casting Drink Magma from any of the possible locations.
◦Lord Rhyolith now summons in volcanoes when intended, and it is no longer possible for the first set of volcanoes to be ignored.

Please refer to the full list of hotfixes here:

Great! I thought steering him was annoying didn't seem to snap around as fast as I would have expected. Now I just need tanks for Fri...!
