So, Dragon Soul's apparently going to be out this week. This completely throws off my schedule!

We are still going to go into Firelands and finish our Glory achievements, right? Should be able to go in there and blitz the Aly and Shannox cheeves. 8)

We shall not be denied our rightful epeen!

Eh, rather do Dragonsoul.

Besides if we cared about epeen we would have a more better, more organized raid than we do currently.

I'm torn - I'd like to go in and finish the mount achieves, and was really thinking we'd have another week before 4.3. We'd need 4 bosses, I think - Shannox and Alys normal, and heroic Bael and Beth. We would also have to spend a lot of time clearing trash, for the Shannox achieve. We could probably start that early, though.

So clear trash from 5-6pm server, then do the achieves from 6-7:30 or so? Head to the new raid after that? That'd still give us 3+ hours to get in the swing of things, and would start on a good note, imo.

We don;t need to make a decision till it happens, and should let me check wow progress since other raids start earlier than us and see what they were able to do with progression. I don't see a problem clearing normal modes in a couple of weeks or less with our gear levels and based on what I read on the PTR. We will see the new content if it is out this week how much time we spend we will figure out, I'm in no hurry to be bored faster on this last major content patch. Let's see what our server has done on Thursday with DS progress and make a decision that evening.

Dwarf got some 4.3 PTR experience and the Nagrand raid will be hitting DS on Wednesday night our time so that might give us a bit of a headstart. Nothing looks all that 'challenging' tbh.

Will get find some more strat links etc during maintenance tonight.

Oh yeah I hadn't considered the extra clearing required for the Shannox cheeve. We would need to kill all of the first five and a portion of the trash for that, right?

I also think Yellow has a good point-- this being the last content patch for the expansion, I don't think we really need to be in a hurry to get it over and done with. :)

We can only hope Dragon Soul wont be the top tier raid for quite as long as Icecrown Citadel was.

From a little that I've read about 'Bucket List' you don't have to drag him full-on through the zone, just close enough to it to get the part marked off. Like for Beth, I don't think you have to go all the way up the path, just drag him over to the cliff area either near where we jump down or (I think this one is closer) the path that we take to get to the boss for the legendary staff. So really shouldn't be too bad, mostly just the trash clearing that'll take a while. Same sort of thing for Lord Rhyolith - not up the path, but just near it.

I understand Yellow's desire to not move through this content too quickly, but given our current rate of progression I think this is not going to be an issue.

Firelands was released on June 28th. Our first Rag kill was on August 19th. We got to 6/7 heroic mode Firelands on 11/25.
I will post a breakdown of our progression rates from FL later, but here's some numbers to mull over:

It took us about 2.67 months (8 raids) to clear normal FL, and ~ 5 months (22 raids since launch, 14 from our first Rag kill) to get to 6/7 heroic.

Each heroic boss was downed on average after over 3 months of attempts (the range was is huge mind you, it was 51--151 days after launch or 10-22 raids from launch)

DS has 9 bosses. If we hold our current rate of progression constant we should see a Deathwing kill sometime in February (at the earliest) and a heroic Deathwing kill sometime in the summer. This does NOT take into consideration the difficulty discrepancy between FL and DS.

I think Friday should be dedicated to new content/progression and if there is interest in an achievement run we can do this

a) after Jager

or

b) on a Saturday or Sunday

I'd be all for either a post-Jager raid or a Saturday raid to clean up achieves. I don't know how realistic Sunday would be though, especially if it were in the evening times. Damn you, EST.

The last major raid tier before the current expansion, Icecrown Citadel, was released on 8th December 2009, approximately 364 days before Cataclysm; or 11.96 months, or 0.997 years.

I think this is what Yellow is referring to when he mentions it's the last major raid tier of the expansion.

I have little to say other than this number amused me, for some reason. :D

Well, ok, I also think we've got some time before MoP comes out, and while I do want to progress in DS (which, given that we've got a really, really good group of players, shouldn't be all that tough) I would like to finish off Firelands as well. Though I don't really see taking on heroic Ragnaros, as we don't really have that kind of time with our 5 hours a week, but I'd like to see us finish the stuff for the mount sooner rather than later.

Also, I do like numbers-based posts. Perhaps I will go back to trying the raid reviews, looking at what killed us and analyzing the logs. That was pretty interesting, though maybe only to me.

Ok, that was more than I thought I'd have to say. Perhaps I should sleep now. Then work. Then raid. Ah, this is the life. :)

OK guys we will start with dragon soul this week, since looking at guild ox the progression raids have gotten 7/8 the 1st week out and even wind of hope got 3/8. Like I said I don't think normal will as difficult as FL was except for the final fight. Guilds on our server are already zerging a FC of normal in probably 2 weeks then it's just hardmodes. I would like to shoot for 4-5 bosses minimum this week to stay in-line with progression and we will see what time is left, don't forget we can always extend the FL raid ID over a couple of weeks to meet our goals so we should be fine if we just have time to knock off 1/4 cheeves all of us have left.

Was thinking this immediately after the raid yesterday - needed on progression, imo. And it's not just you, I have at least one WoL browser tab open at all times

I also would love to participate in some WoL data interpretation. Someone start a thread on it! :D

I appreciated Sagenn's format. If he doesn't have the time I'll get us started.

P.S. we're currently 5th on the realm, 4th for 10-man. Woo!

Staying in the top 5 alliance raids on the server is pretty damn good for a 1 night raid imo. Leaves the rest of the week for gearing your alts :) Jager probably has the best geared alts on the server capable of performing in the top tier of any other raid 8)
