Ensuring that the Drunken Badgers is a fun and friendly place to call home is important to us all. We pride ourselves on being a great group of people with low tolerance for asshats. As the guild grows it becomes more challenging to retain the culture that makes us who we are and to really get to know absolutely everyone in the guild. With that in mind we are introducing a new policy for invitation into the guild designed to ensure that the people who join us are going to be a great fit with the Badger way. Obviously a fondness for beer is a key requirement ;)

The new policy is as follows:

1. In order to join the guild as an initiate the applicant must be sponsored by two people of member status or above.

2. The guild officer who undertakes to invite the initiate must ensure that:
a) they enter the applicants join date and sponsors in their officer note and
b) the applicant is made aware of the guild culture and policies either by telling them the details themselves or making sure that they have read the appropriate forums.
The guild officer is expected to take a mentoring role with the applicant during their initiate period.

3. There are to be no more than ten initiates to the guild at anyone time.
(At the time of implementing this policy that may not be the case but this will be the policy henceforth) The reason for this policy is to make the process manageable.

For information on promotion from initiate to member please see the appropriate thread in this forum.

Guild officers reserve the right to bend the rules on occasion - however any such bending must be discussed with other officers first. Guild leadership also reserves the right to amend this policy at any time.

I don't know anyone in the Badgers, I just heard about you guys and am interested in joining, what do I do?
We don't accept applications via the forums as it's important to us to get to know you before you join. If you are interested in joining approach a guild member in game and give us the opportunity to get to know you by spending some time hanging out with us.

I'm already a member of the guild and want to bring my alt(s) into the guild, do I have to go through this process?
If you are already a member then you simply need to get an officer to invite your alt. It is important to protect against hackery ninja asshats so you will not be able to be promoted to a higher than initiate status on your alt until you can verify to an officer whilst on your main that the alt is indeed your toon. When inviting alts into the guild officers must ensure that the name of the main is entered into the notes.

Initiates may not invite alts into the guild until such time as they are promoted to member.

If you have any comments or questions regarding this policy please make them elsewhere in the forums. The general forum is probably a good place to start such discussions.
