In order to be promoted from initiate to member within the guild you must
1. Have been an initiate for a minimum of 30 days.
2. The initiate must create a thread in the appropriate forum
where they state their desire to be promoted to member and list 5 guildies of member status and above (one of whom must be a guild officer) who will vouch for their promotion. After having been an initiate for this time you should definitely be able to get people willing to stand for you, there's no point having members who don't actually get to know their fellow guildies.
3. A guild officer must nominate in the thread to follow up with the those guildies named as standing for the initiates promotion and subsequently post the decision in the thread.
Any initiates who have not received appropriate endorsement after 90 days from joining will be automatically removed from the guild.
The reason we are taking this approach? It's important to us that people who make it to member status are a good fit with our guild and understand our guild culture and policies. This process means that you as an initiate must make the effort to get to know people within the guild and spend some time on the forums.
The guild leadership reserves the right to change this policy at any time. Guild leadership also reserves the right to bend the policy on occasion. Such occasions should be highly infrequent and discussed with at least 3 other guild officers.
Any commentary or questions about this policy should be made elsewhere in the forums. The general forum area is probably a good spot.
Note: At the time of enactment of this policy there may be exceptions to the >90 days rule. If this applies to you it's probaby a good idea to start your promotion request thread asap.
