jud's prot gear and ret gear are pretty similar these days (both short of being strong for ICC25). i have a bunch of badges that could go towards getting Jud more ICC25 capable for prot or ret. with cliff gone and seel too valuable on DPS, do we want jud as a backup offtank?

my thought is to have Jud build out a tanking set b/c:
- We seem to be more short on DPS than healing these days, so it's better to pull a healer to tank than a DPS (i.e. Seel)
- There is too much plate wearing dps cycling through the raid to get a decent ret set for Jud, whereas i can probably pick up a tank offset more easily.
- We have 2 other strong pally healers in Phase and Dwarven.

anyway, 3 gear sets are too difficult/costly to maintain so i'm trying to decide what the best offset for the raid is.

thx, jud

I agree with the backup pally tanking gearing, rather you than a new sub like Orimilin gearing for tanking. It was fine in the past for Seel to do it but we take too much of a DPS loss taking our top 5 DPS for tanking duties.

/agree
Plus, I like the idea of giving our regulars first dibbs on "spicing things up" during the late-WOTLK doldrums (You know, like TippyJez)

Nalfurin (new guild initiate) told me about some friends of his, a husband and wife pair (Thadius and Delainey - Prot Pally and Resto Druid) who were interested in joining the guild. Asked them to apply for the raid asap. They are both geared to the level of 60% of Whiskey members atm. Both "play the hell out of their classes" supposedly and know all fights.

Thad attempted to sign up to forums immediately but was not getting a return email from the forums server, does an admin need to OK this?

/agree with Moonkin + YJ

i manually activated Thadias and Delainey's accounts. If they still have problems posting onto the site, have them contact Jud in game and i'll work it out with them. not sure whether the confirmation email ended up in their spam in box, or if something is wrong with the forum server.

That's code for:
a) I said I was under 13 years old
b) I mistyped my email address, or
c) My spam filter buried the email

If it was a) they might have trouble viewing forums once signed in. If they do that, have them re-create their accounts and remember to click "I was born BEFORE 1997"
